Who we are

Penrose Solar began from a realization that the Illinois solar market seriously lacked key organizations other, more established, markets already had throughout the United States. Organizations to help stranded customers, provide standard training and consultation services, and to navigate the often convoluted environment of jurisdictional and cooperative policies.

Stranded Customers are those who have installed solar, but the company they installed with has gone out of business or has limited operations. Typically, these consumers are left with unfinished solar arrays, technical issues, lack of access to solar monitoring, and unsubmitted state incentive applications.

Penrose Solar has years of expertise to address these consumer and market concerns.

Our company owner, Shelby Reynolds, has seven years of experience working within the Illinois solar market. She began working in sales, transitioning into project development, before then working within the Illinois Shines program itself. While working within the Illinois Shines program, she gained valuable insights into the needs of the market. Her vision for Penrose Solar is to expand consumer knowledge by working directly with solar companies across Illinois and abroad for a more cohesive, safe, Illinois market.

At Penrose Solar, our core values are BRIGHT.
